Irene Kelleher graduated from UCC with a First Class Honours Degree and Masters in Drama and Theatre Studies. She has also trained at Shakespeare and Company in Lenox, Massachusetts.


Film and TV work includes a role in Game of Thrones (Season 5), Reign (CBS) and leading roles in two Irish Feature Films Beyond the Woods and Dead Dogs. Irene was awarded the Best Actress Award for her performance as 'Aoibhe' in the film The Trouble with Aoibhe at the BlackBird Film Festival in NYC and was nominated for a S.O.F.I.E Award.


Irene has numerous stage credits with her most recent performance being in Katie Holly’s play Sharon at Bewleys Café Theatre following on from a sell out run at the Cork Midsummer Festival. She toured Ireland and UK with her critically acclaimed first play Mary and Me, published by Oberon. She has toured Off Broadway in New York in the title role of Ian Wild’s one-woman show Mrs Shakespeare, which was awarded the Argus Angel Award. Her UK stage debut was at the Belgrade Theatre as 'Maria' in Stars in the Morning Sky directed by Hamish Glen.

The Turning of the Screw (Smock Alley & The Everyman Theatre 2015), Desolate Heaven, 'Kitty Kiernan' in Pat Talbot’s production of A Great Arrangement (nationwide tour),  Playhouse Creatures, The Playboy of the Western World (NYC October 2013 and the Peacock,Dublin), Lovers, The Collector, Pied a Terre, Lipstick, The Maids, Hollander with Hammergrin Theatre Company, Our Day Out, A Woman Alone, Much Ado about Nothing, Shakers Re-stirred and The Glass Menagerie.

Other Film & TV Credits:

Fair City (RTE) , Redline, Hatch, Spellbound, Comic Potential, The Gingerbread Men and the multi-Award winning feature Dead Dogs.



Her first venture into writing was the short film Outside the Box which won Best Irish Short Film - Fastnet Film Festival, 2013.
